Vinos Argentinos

While acreage of Malbec is declining in France, in Argentina the grape is surging and has become a "national variety" of sort that is uniquely identified with Argentine red wine. It is today the most widely planted red grape variety in the country.

The Torrontés is a uniquely Argentine white variety. It is grown in the provinces of Catamarca, La Rioja, Mendoza, Salta, San Juan and Rio Negro. Torrontés has a low acidity, smooth texture and is characterized by distinctive peach and apricot aromas on the nose. It can be sweet or dry in flavour. The wines made from the Torrontés grape have been, for many years, the calling-card of Argentine Wine Producers and have received many international awards.
